Joan Malina

Joan began her BA in Art at the Art Institute of Chicago and completed it at the University of Illinois.  Her inspiration draws upon her training in studio art and art history that influences the visual images that Joan creates. Joan, through her camera lens—as an artist, and photographer—uses her artistic voice to express herself, as well as, address relevant social issues. Further, her work has been published and exhibited on both local and national levels. She has been featured as a Merit Award winner in Black and White, a prominent photography magazine. In addition, Joan earned a Chicago Botanic Garden Merit Certification in Fine Art Photography. Memberships in numerous Chicago-area photography groups have provided outlets for exhibition of her work.
